Aurolac is used in conventional DCR surgery. (In DCR procedure an anastomosis (a shunt) is created between the sac and the nasal mucosa to bypass an obstruction in the nasolacrimal duct).

🔸Allows epithelisation around tubes and the nasal opening can remain patent even after the removal of tubing.

🔸The two malleable and convenient probes help in easier insertion through the punctum and nasolacrimal duct.
